Semi Final Result Show

The encore dance choosen by the judges was Mya.

The performances for tonight show included Alicia Keys, Leona Lewis and Barry and Robin Gibb. For those who don't know Barry and Robin Gibb, they are the B-Gees. They B-Gees are celebrating 50 years! Melissa Rycroft danced to the songs the B-Gees sang.

In the bottom two were Kelly and Joanna. Joanna went home this week on dancing with the stars. Im sad to see her go. I'm not going to lie I'm all for Kelly winning and if it can't be Kelly then Donny.

Semi Finals Scores

Round one plus Round two plus Round three equals Totals out of 90!

Donny: 21+26+27=74

Joanna: 27+27+27=81

Kelly: 24+27+27=79

Mya: 28+30+29=87

Who will go home?!?!?!?!?!?!

Semi Finals!!!!! (11-16-09)

3 Full Dances! The Pressure is on. Tonight's dances were great. The showed a little history on each celebrity dancer, it was really nice to see. Joanna had wanted to dance since she was a little girl and the family didn't have the money to get her into the practices she needed. I"m glad she's made it this far and hopefully she can do something with what she has learned on dancing with the stars. Everyone of the dancers at some point did a solo section in one of the routines. Donny danced the Tango, samba and the jitterbug. Joanna did the Viennese waltz, the cha cha and the salsa. Kelly danced the rumba, the quick step and the cha cha. Mya did the waltz, the salsa and the cha cha. Donny is entering the semi finals in the last place. Gilles helped him in work on the tango. I love to watch him dance just to see the facial expressions he has. He is an entertainer at heart. He stumbled doing the tango and blamed it on Marie. He did a flip in the jitter bug. He is so much fun to watch. Joanna had help from Brook Burke this week on the Viennese waltz. Derek was singing and the dress she wore was lovely. I got dizzy watching her dance the cha cha and she stumble at the end of her salsa. Kelly's hair was pretty this evening. She looked like a princess in a pink dress. Kelly was the first dancer so have a solo section tonight and Louie stood and watched. I noticed the others did their own moves in the background. I also liked that her dress for the quick step looked so normal. As in I could go to the store and buy it as a nice flowery spring/summer dress. Sharron (her mom) had tears in her eyes tonight. I love how her mom hasn't missed a performance. Ozzy has been to a good many as well. Mya made rules up in practice for practice. I don't really see how that was productive but whatever works for you. I really like the delicateness of her dress. Myas dances always look nice and very good. I never seem to have as much to say about her dances and I think that's why.

The results of 11-10-09

A little bit that went on during the show: Jerry Rice was on with Kenny Mayne and Stacy Keibler. They did dance center with Len. Susan Boyle preformed. She sang "I dreamed a dream". For those who don't know the song it is from Le Misarabe(I know I spelled it wrong). I sang it in H.S. chorus. Michael (i didn't get his last name) also sang two sons. Macy's design a dance performance was tonight. America got to choose the dancers, the song and the outfits. Sabrina Bryan danced with Mark Ballas. They danced the Paso doble to eye of the tiger.

The scores. Ballroom + Latin = total

Mya 29+30=59
Aaron 23+27=50
Joanna 23+26=49
Kelly 25+26=51
Donny 26+24=50

Aaron and Kelly were in the bottom two. Aaron went home this week. Next week the semi-finals!

The Ballroom and The Latin Rounds

So I finally got to watch got to watch this past weeks dancing with the stars (thank you Monday night football) and the results show. There were two rounds this week. Ballroom and Latin dances. Latin dances were given a specific decade. Every couple did two full dances tonight. Each round opened with the judges commenting on a previous dance that the couples have done that belong in that particular round. I found it amusing that some of the comments were accurate but the judges didn't follow what they said need to happen and don't judge that way. It's really bothersome.

The Ballroom Round

Mya did the quick step. She's been stressing out so Dimitry took her horseback riding. I liked her the dress she wore. It was a shinny coral color. I think Dimitry did more movement than she did. She finally has Len on her side. Aaron did the fox trot. Karina is sick all week she had a fever and felt dizzy occasionally. she wore full sweats and a jacket at practice to break her fever and she did dance "Monday". Aaron showed how much he really wants to win. I liked her pant dress, I thought it looked really nice. There was some footing issues even I saw and a small lift that she couldn't help because he lifted her too high. the dance was really cute though. the judges commented on how hard he is trying and that he's put in a lot and because of that there was a lost of fluidity. Joanna also did the quick step. She watched tapes of Mya's quick step I'm not sure if it helped her at all. It was so hard to follow their feet they were moving so fast. I liked her dress but wish it was a different color. The judges were disappointed. Kelly did the foxtrot. In practice she is so easily distracted. She brings her dogs with her and lap top and cell phone. Louie locked them in a box! Not the dogs though. Have you ever seen her two little dogs? They are puff balls with feet. her dress was a greenish color and looked good with his suit. I liked her dance it looked great as far as i could tell. Donny did the Viennese waltz. He said in practice the he has no time and isn't having fun dancing anymore, so Donny took some time to "reboot". As always, he has posture issues but the dance looked good. It actually moved me enough to have a tear in my eye... I can't explain it but it could have been the music.

The Latin Round

Mya did a 70s style samba. I liked the outfits and they put in some disco moves. She has offically gotten the first 30 of this season! Aaron did a 90s style samba. I liked the black and yellow outfits, of course that could be because I'm a Steelers girl. The dance looked good and he looked like he had a lot of fun with it. This is the first latin dance that didn't really have latin music that i really liked. They danced to an alternative genre song. the judges liked it. Joanna did a futuristic Paso. In practice her feet were moving but her mind and body weren't. The outfits were crazy and they did hair and make-up to match. They did a lot of side by side dancing. This may have been my favorite dance for the night. Kelly did a 60s theme jive. Apparently this is her favorite decade. She instantly thought Beatles and Louie looked like one. She had on a bright green wig (it looks like the pink one I bought for Halloween) and I want her shoes. Shes done a music video that themed the 60s so she was really happy to be able to contribute for once. Donny did the 80s style paso. They did an 80s rock theme, so, to me I thought he looked like Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and she looked like Madonna. The dance looked so much fun. Carrie Ann said that she thought they crossed over into something frightening. I really liked it though.

Photos

Hey I was looking at the dancing website and here are pictures from last weeks show so that if you want to see dresses I commented on you can. Donny and Kym are in there. it was hard to describe her dress. Also, feel free to look through all the pictures from the season. There is a good one of Kelly in the Pasa group.

Monday Night Football!!!!!

Go Steelers! Today is Monday and since I live in the Pittsburgh area... Steelers play the Broncos tonight on ABC.... No dancing tonight. It will be on tomorrow at 9 am and I will be recording it so that i can watch it later. I will also be recording the results show so i will have to watch them asap. I'm glad they are showing tonight's show tomorrow morning. I was a little worried they weren't going to show it at all and I'd have nothing to blog about. I'm' sure i could have found something dancing related to chat about. which actually brings me to tonight's blog I thought since i couldn't watch dancing I'd catch up on here a little even thought i still have to watch last Tuesday results show. Finding time to do that is so hard to do. I have at least 20 hours of programing on my DVR that is mine alone... this doesn't include what my parents DVR that i also will sit and watch. Whatever made me take 5 classes this semester I will never know. I almost did it again next semester too! I transferred in after I received my associates and one of my electives that transferred is now actually available at Pitt so one of my classes was null and void. thank god. Working part time with all of this. I miss last semester when i had two days during the week when no one else was home to get work done. Next semester will be back to that way. it will be so nice. time to get work done. I work 3 days a week at a school for kids with autism. and go to school the other two days and not having days during the week where i can get appts. in and get shopping/running done takes up so much time. My mom also has a problem with leaving me alone when I'm doing stuff for school. she's real big on doing well in school but loves to bug me. I don't think she knows she does it and she scares me to much to tell her. So I try desperately to get stuff done on days off so that way I can do nothing when my parents are home. I will have to make special time to get all my dancing with the stars watching done.

Scores

Team Pasa got a 24 and Team Tango got a 28.

Michael 23 +24=47
Donny 24 +28=52
Mark 19+24=43
Mya 25+24=49
Aaron 29+24=53
Kelly 24+28=52
Joann 27+28=55

and because it's already monday after the results show and because I haven't actually watched it to get all the details of the evening i don't want to make anyone wait till i can get it off the dvr... mostly because this week is very messed up.

Mark and Michael went home this week.

Costume Designers! 11-2-09

On the Nov. 2nd show the celebs designed the pros costumes. So in saying that I didn't pay close attention to the actually dancing. I was looking more at the dresses that the guys designed. They did this last year and it's one of my favorite things on dancing. With that here are some things from the show.
Michael did the foxtrot. The dress he designed was a very pretty color. It was a wine color with light pink. He may not be one of my favorite dancers but this may be one of my favorite dress. After when asked about the dress he said it was Barney inspired. He was watching Barney and he picked a purpley color.
Donny did the quickstep. Her dress was a shimmery gold with blue jewels. I liked the color but it had a raggy look to it. the dress had strips to it, I'm not really sure how to explain it. If i see a picture of it I'll post it up here. As for dancing Donny is having posture issues.
Mark danced the samba with Anna. Lacy is sick. Tony danced with him at practice and then Anna. Her dress was Black and Turquoise. Her hair was nice too. I'm not sure if he designed this dress or not since Lacy didn't dance. He had 48 hours to learn a routine ( 2 actually) because he learned one with Lacy and then had to learn one with Anna. The judges didn't like it.
Mya did the foxtrot. I liked the suit but how hard it is to design a suit... I'm sorry. Hey for all I know its a real pain to make one. I've never made one. Cloris Leechman came to practice to help her out.
Aaron danced the jive. He had an NFL trainer help in practice. I like the pink fringe dress he designed. I enjoyed the dance and he got 10s.
Kelly danced the salsa. she had a dress with fringe one... Louie's pants also had fringe on. They were awesome! The question is how mad was he at Kelly for those pants. Considering that the pants came off........... to plain black pants under probably not a lot. Part of her dress came off too. Kelly had some seriously hateful eyes. I liked it.
Joanna did the rumba. Derek had a beach dream/fantasy. It was funny. I liked her dress and she went basic on Derek's outfit. She did a hop and Carrie Ann saw it but didn't penalize her.
Team Dances! Team Pasa and Team Tango competed for a team score. Everyone got to have their own moment to dance but there are no individual scores. the group as a whole gets one score. Team Paso had Mark, Aaron, Mya and Michael. Practice seemed a ball of people talking and throwing out suggestions. Their dresses really looked "bullfighterish". Team Tango was Kelly, Joann, and Donny. Kelly has already had a horrible tango in past shows. Pros came into practice with a routine already to go. All they had to do was teach. I like the black ball gowns. The part where they had the girls "fighting" over Donny was funny.

Some random thoughts

So I've been commented on things on dancing with the stars on a separate pieces of paper or on the sides of my notebook. Instead of waiting till later to comment on them I thought I'd throw out the couple things I have here and see what you think.

I think Kelly has brought out a whole new side of Louie. The past season he's seemed so proper and now she's got him wearing make-up. I really like it.

Does anyone else think Louie and Chelsie could be the next DWTS couple?

I keep getting a vibe from Aaron, from the way he tends to act sometimes, that he's gay.

Gilles Marini is on Brothers and Sister (Sundays at 10pm).

Karina Smirnoff sorta gets around. She was with Mario Lopez, her past season partner, then to Maks, her fellow pro dancer. This season rumors were that she was with Aaron and now she's been spotted out with pro baseball player Brad Penny. TMZ was the source of Penny. Truthfully, if Aaron and Karina were a off stage couple I would think you would see more chemistry on stage for the romantic dances that he was having such a hard time with.

Double Elimination!!!!!

So two of our beloved dancers will be going home. Very sad to lose two in one week and then again next week! There was no encore tonight because we are having a dance off! At the bottom three are Melissa, Louie and Michael. Who goes home? First, a brief overview of the events on the show! Taylor Swift performed, I love her. I missed her concert this month unfortunately. Tiempo Libre also performed they have actually fled Cuba. They showed more backstage footage of costume design and had some champion competitors give advise on the getting the perfect scores.

So the bottom 3.... Melissa, Louie and Michael. Melissa had the lowest score and went home. Michael and Louie had the dance off. To clear that up each one did a dance of their choosing, to their chose of music and their own clothing. The Judges voted 2 to 1 to keep Michael. So therefore, Louie has also left us.

Total scores!

So i'm gonna list the dancers, there score from the indiviual dance plus the competition mambo for a total.

Mya: 24+9=33
Melissa: 20+4=24
Mark: 26+6=32
Aaron: 25+8=33
Michael: 20+2=22
Kelly: 20+5=25
Louie: 21+3=24
Joanna: 26+10=36
Donny: 24+7=31

Jitter bug anyone?

The jitterbug and the waltz are the dances from the live DWTS on 10-26-09. I have to say that the jitterbug just looks so much fun and the waltz you should learn for your wedding. Also there was a competition dance, the mambo. Mya did the jitterbug and I'm thrilled that she didn't have some sexy romantic dance to do again. In practice we saw that her hips are starting to hurt her, personally i would think my feet would hurt. She's a dancer to begin with so why would she not be used to dancing that her hips hurt? She still hasn't completely won over Len yet. Melissa had the waltz. Mark brought in his mom to teach her good posture. I really like the color purple of her dress. I thought she looked scared or at least her smiles had a scary look to them. Mark did the jitterbug, he went to a jitterbug club. Did anyone else know that those existed because I sure didn't. What was she wearing? A french maids uniform with out the hat thing (instead she had a bow)? Halloween outfit maybe? Mark did a lot of the flips and personally I thought there was very little actual dancing. Apparently, it was a perfect jitterbug according to judges. Aaron did the waltz. He wore a suit to practice to show his determination. I don't know about all that, the one he wore to dance in looked like if he turned his head the wrong way he'd lose his head. I want Karina dress. I also want Annas'. Her and Michael did the waltz. I liked his smile for once and he smiled the whole time it looked like. He looked like he had a good time. Kelly did the jitterbug. Louie made her face her fears.... had her do a trapeze. Points for her for actually doing it. I can't say that I would have. I'm a fan of heights because I'm afraid of falling. She sorta reminded me of Lucile Ball, I said that to my mom and she couldn't get the image out of her head. Haha. I really hope Kelly goes far, for anyone who only knows of her I think it would really prove that she's not the stereotype. Louie did the jitterbug and can actually move his feet. I really liked this dance all of them are nice but since she's done so much "walking" in some of the past dances it was nice to see his move. He did some snowboarding flips without the snowboard tonight. I can't believe he dropped Chelsie! Minus 50 bonus points for you. Joanna did the waltz and she tripped so many times. I think it was the skirt of her dress, which was really nice minus the top part. her dance was very elegant but shes not my favorite. Donny did the jitterbug... He's really feeling it with all the lifts they did in practice. Something you may not have known is that she teaches people with down syndrome how to dance. I think that's really cute and so were their outfits.

The competition mambo was hard to watch and comment on so I have the scores they got and just want to say that it was something to watch. All the dancers dance at the same time and the whole thing last 4 mins. Just like a real dance competition, and I'm not say that this wasn't, dancers dance and the judges start to tap or eliminate couples one by one until only one couple is left and that is who wins. The 1st person tapped out gets 2 points and the winner gets 10.

1st Michael 2
2nd Louie 3
3rd Melissa 4
4th Kelly 5
5th Mark 6
6th Donny 7
7th Aaron 8
8th Mya 9
9th Joanna 10

10-20-09 Results

First off, sorry I'm a little late on this one (again) I meant to do it before I went to so long Springfield. Which was for us guiding light fans because it has been taken off the air after 72 years. Very disappointing Proctor and Gamble! Excellent weekend and if your fans I'd love to talk about it.

So a quick rundown of the results show. Donny and Kym got the encore performance. We saw Kelly and her dad backstage looking at her foot and then going to the emergency room. Nora Jones performed. I didn't know who she was till her 2nd song and even then I didn't realize she sang it. As I sit here right now I can't for the life of me remember the name of it and of course I didn't write it down. The Michael Jackson tribute was very nice. It was a combination of some of his more popular songs. Thriller is and always will be my favorite. Some of his family was there and they had recorded them and others talking about Michael Jackson and the impact he has had on the dancing world. I really like watching them all run around backstage. I did stage crew in H.S. and was on stage and my favorite thing was to run around before, during and after the show back stage.

The bottom two were Aaron and Natalie. Natalie went home. The judges weren't happy to see either of them in the bottom.

Maks is back and he brought the flu. 10-19-09

Maks is filling in for Derrick this week on DWTS. Derrick has come down with the flu, he was there but since Joanna practiced with Maks all week she danced with him. Tonight we had the Pasadoble and the Argentine Tango. Lifts were allowed with the tango. They also did a group dance to The Hustle. Natale, Michael, Kelly, and Mark did the Pasadoble. The dancers doing the tango were Aaron, Mya, Donny, Louie, Melissa and Joanna.
Natalie danced to American Women...that certainly didn't make me think of Spain. Did you? I personally didn't like it, but i was put off by the song. Her dress matched (red, white and blue). I didn't think she was very aggressive either. Carrie Ann commented on a lift and said that Alec helped her do it and if she did it herself like she could have it would have been OK. This coming from the one who was so mesmerized when lifts weren't allowed at all. Blah! Michael literally but a nickle between his butt checks in practice. He looked great too so it worked I guess. Her dress really make me think Spain and the skirt turned into a cape for the bull to run through! After the dance he gave Bruno the nickle from practice. Mark and Lacy's opening was cool with the fog, I don't think anyone has done that before. There was lots of passion and the facial expressions showed it. Kelly got Louie to wear make up again. she really looked like her mom, Sharron, with her hair spiked like that. Ozzy was there again and it was nice because they danced to Crazy Train. That doesn't make you think Spain either but with the moves they pulled it off really nice. Compared to past weeks she looked more relaxed. Daddy gave her a standing ovation!
Aaron had professional help come into practice this week and it paid off. He did really well compared to last week and the judges really liked it. Mya yet again got a romantic, in her zone, dance. I did like her hair and her make up though. Her and Dimitry took some time out of practice this week to help out with habitat for humanity. Donny entertained as always. I loved Kym's dress, I had to look twice to see how it was on. They were very serious and sexy and intense. All I could think was Italy now I want to go there. They got 10s! Louie did more dancing this week than last week. He had some lifts in there too. I can't wait for him to really find the confidence to actually dance but according to the judges he's leading more than Chelsie is. Melissa partner Mark is also sick but not as bad as derrick. Anna helped out in practice and it seemed to help her a lot. I always love when Mark wears those bright colored pieces on his shoes. I'm not completely sure what they are. It was very passionate and aggressive. The judges said she looked grumpy and had footing issues. Carrie Ann said she was in character and that she liked it. Len said it was lacking but liked it. I didn't see any grumpy and I do know grumpy. Joanna stumbled big time this week but her and Maks did find some chemistry. I love the song Lola, I even named my fish after it.
"Do the hustle!" do do o song doesn't leave your head. Corky came back to be the choreographer. Kelly hurt her foot and ended up dancing barefoot. Donny actually remembers the 70s and did his hair like it used to be like in the 70s. Everyone did flips and tricks. Louie danced as in moved his feet danced! Everyone did great and the dance was entertaining. Also they weren't being judged on this one.

10-13-09 Results show

Melissa got the encore which was surprising since Len mention who he wanted to see again last night, wasn't her. She got her first 10 last night and made one serious jump up the leader boards. Shakira performed tonight. 2 songs Did It Again and With Hips Don't Lie. I liked the drums in Did It Again. With Hips Don't Lie is one of my favorite songs. No matter which song of hers your listening to you just have that urge to get up and shake your hips and dance your little heart out. On the wings of love was mention right before the professional demonstrated next weeks songs. I missed what exactly it was and couldn't rewind. The dog stepped on the remote getting on the couch. If you saw it, what was it? The part with the dancers kids was really cute. Mark and Melissa's kids just made you want to "aw". All the women were safe tonight. so that means one of the men are going home.

Score!
Chuck: 17
Melissa: 28
Natalie: 24
Aaron: 18
Mark: 22
Kelly: 23
Joanna: 26
Donny: 24
Michael: 16
Louie: 16
Mya: 28

In the bottom two were Aaron and Chuck. Chuck will not be dancing with us next week. I'm glad it wasn't Aaron but I liked watching Chuck. I kinda wish, if it had to be a guy, Michael would have went home this week.

New Dances

Last night we saw 4 new dances. the lambada (sexy), the country two-step, the charleston (flapper/1920s) and the Bolero (slow). Lifts are ALLOWED!!! Almost everyone did a lift last night. The lifts were allowed as long as it was dance appropriate. Dancers doing the 2-step were: Chuck, Mark, and Louie. Melissa, Kelly, and Donny did the charleston. The Bolero dancers were: Natalie and Michael. Aaron, Joanna, and Mya did the Lambada.
Chuck as we found out grew up around a country bar. I'm thinking he was the bouncer at the door. Honestly doesn't look all that bad as a cowboy though. Didn't do a really good dance though. It was as if he was watching her and then following her instead of really dancing. The lifts were nice but I didn't really like her outfit. I saw saloon girl and not the one who tended or waitressed . I"m talking the ones that worked for Miss Kitty. Melissa's 1920 flapper outfit looked great. They started out as a black and white film and then went into normal color. Mark kinda reminded me of an old cartoon and I think Melissa has finally found her "character". The dance was great but the lift wasn't all the impressive. All he did was carry her to a chair. Judges loved it! Natalie looked like a goddess in her dress. I didn't see any lifts in there dance and it looked like she was really concentrating on the steps. It wasn't as good as last week. I wish I could do it to begin with. The judges were also so/so on it but said it was more difficult than her other dances so it did please the judges. Aaron didn't seem like he was into this dance. He wasn't sexy enough and it looked like he messed up the ending lift. Did a back flip in the beginning that was really good and cool. I like the color of Karina's dress. Judges also said he wasn't sexy enough and that he is trying to hard. Marks looked so/so as well. It looked like he knew some parts of the dance and but not all of them because I thought he looked at Lacey a lot. I did like the jump and lift they did and her sexy cowgirl outfit. It was better than Chucks to me. Kelly always looks good but she really pulls 1290s off really well. I liked Louie's make-up which he blamed on Kelly. They made the dance look so much fun. Like it was time to go out and learn to dance the charleston. I don't think she smiled enough but I liked the dance. Joanna and Derek went out and helped wash dogs at a local animal shelter and then sat outside and tried to give them away. it was really cute to do that. As for the dance, Derek went shirtless. It was naughty, sex on the dance floor. The judges LOVED it! so much for family show last night. I liked Donny and Kym's opening scene. I also wish my hips moved like Kym's. Very entertaining and fun to watch like always. They worked a spin lift into their dance. So footing issues but a good dance. I really like his vest. Michael and Anna had a very romantic opening and she also looked very nice in her dress with Michael's matching shirt. Michael still looks so stiff and I really don't think he moved a lot the judges also commented on that but said there has been improvement. Which is something that is supposed to happen. Louie went to visit Ty Murray this week to get into the cowboy spirit. Random female comment: Nice Butt Kid. Unfortunately, his dance didn't do anything for me or the judges. He didn't watch Chelsie, like some watch their partners, but you could tell he was thinking about everything and he didn't do a lot of dancing on his part. Chelsie did most of the dancing. Sweet Home Alabama wasn't so sweet with them dancing to it. Mya of course got a sexy song. I would have loved to see her do the 2-step and really challenge herself. I think the slow/sexy songs are more of her comfort zone. Did she oil her legs up before hitting the dance floor? they were just so shiny. I liked her lift and the dance was very sexy, I'm not sure if I liked her dress. Len was the only one who hasn't been totally won over by her.
One of the problems, I think, was that even some of the professionals had never done some of these dances yet themselves.

Tom/Edyta/Alec

Tom is done. He has elected to leave the show due to his feet. Yes, I said feet. He now has stress fractures in both feet. You could really see how hard he was trying to not show the pain in his last dance. He has been invited back at the end of the season to dance the country two-step which he was really looking forward to doing.

I did not know that Edyta and Alec were married. If you didn't know now you do too!

10-6-09 Results show

Chuck and Anna preformed the encore. Queen Latifah is back into hip hop and performed 2 songs off her new album. Also, Jebbawockeez performed. It sorta was like watching the Blue Man Group gone Cirque Du Soleil. It was a good performance. they also had a skeet with past performers about who will win this year based on science and math. I liked how they did the results show tonight, instead of having everyone out there at one time and going through, safe or not safe. a few at a time and each group had a low score and then each low score had one line of it's own to say two were really safe and then the other two were the bottom two.

And the scores are:
Mark: 18
Joanna: 23
Mya: 27
Melissa: 19
Louie: 20
Debbie: 17
Donny: 21
Michael: 14
Chuck: 17
Aaron: 21
Tom: 15
Kelly: 20

The bottom two are: Michael/Anna and Debbie/Maks
Debbie and Maks went home. I'm not sorry to see Debbie go but I will miss Maks

Have you missed your grumpy? 10-5-09

Len is back this week on dancing with the stars to watch our celebrities dance to the rumba and the samba. Dancing the rumba are Mark/Lacey, Mya/Dimitry, Louie/Chelsie, Donny/Kym, Natalie/Alec, Aaron/Karina and Tom and Cheryl. Kelly/Louie, Chuck/Anna, Michael/Anna, Debbie/Maks, Melissa/Mark and Joanna/Derek will be dancing the samba. Lets look at those who danced the rumba. Mark was entertaining, they did a trick. Looked to me like a stand up split. I liked the dance. The judges didn't. I didn't like the shoes. Mya did a lift! NO ALLOWED! I think we now know who is Carrie Ann's favorite dancer. Carrie Ann is the "lift Nazi", she takes points for one centimeter off the floor if she sees it and she always sees it. She saw it she said she saw it. " to mesmerized" said Carrie Ann. Now with that vented out there, I loved her dress but didn't really liked the dance. It seemed so slow. She has captured the 1st 10s of the season one from both Carrie Ann and Bruno. As for Louie all I can say is HOT HOT HOT. He slicked his hair back so that it would fit the mood better and I'm not sure if anyone leg should bend like Chelsie's did. Len was of course the party poopper. Donny entertained again. This happy go lucky guy can play serious. It was also a very elegant and sensual dance. If you really watch him he sings along while he dances. Donny and Bruno had a moment at the end before he went backstage to get his scores... it was very funny. If you missed it try to find it online somewhere. Natalie had a nice opening to her dance. It looked like some of her issues have been worked through, which is good. Her dance with Alec was very sexy and passionate and ended with a spin toss. Loved it! Was Aaron wearing PJ's? He looked very sexy, I like the opening but the judges found the dance so/so. Tom look patriotic in red, white, and blue along side Cheryl. He had an elephant on the back. Again points for dancing with a broken foot. It was a good song for him and he looked like he had a lot of fun dancing. On to the samba! Joanna had on a crazy dress and the opened with a jungle swing. She didn't look like she was having fun at all. Was she wearing a wig because it looked like it? Melissa's hair looks good curly and I loved the dress. What color was it? It gave me a coral feel. The music screamed Latin dance. Surprise, surprise Melissa has got legs. I loved the dance but it also looked like she was thinking to much. Debbie had a jacket on that she took off in the opening of her dance. I liked the jacket better. Micheal looked like he was having a blast with this dance. Anna's dress looked like the same color as Melissa's. The judges didn't like the dance. Chuck.... All that was in my head for his dance was Mexican band with singer. He sleeves came off which was good and bad because it fit my Mexican band thoughts but it did make it look more like Chuck. Absolutely entertaining and fun to watch. Kelly ended her dance with a kiss on the lips of Louie! I noticed her nails were bright green. Her hair and costume were so nice and she looked much better than last week.

Tonight's encore was Mya. Joss Stone sang two songs. I've never heard of her and I wasn't really impressed. Is that really her name? They only really said it, I wish they would put it up on the screen. Selina Gomez sang the song Kiss and Tell. Isn't she a Disney kid? I can honestly say that I'm completely thrilled that she didn't come out on to the stage dress like she's 20 something, which i don't think she is. She was fully covered and I think if girls her age watched it it was a good impression. The double platinum record holders the USC Trojan marching band preformed. it was really good. did anyone else notice that in the dancers that were there there was only one white guys? just something I noticed.

Our scores are...

Joanna : 20
Natalie : 21
Chuck : 19
Melissa : 19
Michael : 20
Debbie : 21
Louie : 19
Aaron : 27
Kelly : 19
Kathy : 18
Mark : 21
Mya : 27
Tom : 18
Donny : 25

Kathy and Debbie were in the bottom two. Kathy Ireland went home this week

Medical Alert

Tom is dancing with a pre stress fracture. He says he will dance till he either goes home or they finally break. Good for Tom pushing though. Browning points for him.

Back to normal

This is from 9-28-09

As the title suggest this week is back to normal. Dancing on Monday and going home on Tuesday. Len however is not here this week. The grump is gone to England for their version of dancing with the stars. Sitting in his place is Baz Luhrmann director of the Moulan Rouge. Should Mya be worried??? If you didn't know she is one of he singer in Lady Marmalade from the movie. Also, a random comment about Carrie Ann... she looks great in green. Now on to the dances! Tonight we have the jive, the tango and the quickstep. Performing the jive will be Joanna, Melissa, Louie, Mya and Donny. Natalie, Michael, Aaron, Kathy and Mark will be doing the quickstep while Tom, Kelly, Debbie and Chuck will be doing the tango. Joanna's dance was nice. She had on a "rocker" type of dress/outfit on. I didn't like her hair though and she had some footing issues. Natalie had the prettiest purple dress on i loved it. it wasn't as revealing as some of the dresses are. The dance looked so elegant, I'm jealous! I wish she would relax and get into it more. Chuck threw in some fighting moves. I can't say i was totally thrilled by this dance. In my head for the tango i see red, passion and a song that fits. I didn't wright down the song name but I know it's on 105.9 the X. I felt it lacked something for me. Melissa's dance was entertaining. I think part of that is Mark he is always fitting the part. The outfits, (I loved the shoes) always go with the dance and always seem to go with the song. They really did a lot of tricks and the judges loved her, minus a few footing comments. Michael wore pink i was excited about that. I didn't picture him doing a matching pink theme. I love to watch these dances but when the dancers don't look like its any fun as it almost looked like with Micheal it doesn't make me want to try it one day. He has improved since last week though. Debbie is such a diva and has no attention span. She did finally wear red for the tango and I did like the song she danced to. Roxanne. Her and Maks had a really good love/hate look on them for this dance. Did anyone else notice she was wearing thigh highs and showing the tops of them? I really hope Louie goes far. I liked his dance not a song that makes me think Jive but it was good. It was so much fun to watch he did a really cool flip and it was so entertaining. Bruno wants improvement out of him. On a side note. how does no one have a wardrobe malfunction? Aaron had some sweet hair. I had to laugh at the green suit. the dance itself was very fun to watch. He is going to go far i think. I hope so i like watching him. Apparently he was supposed to be Kermit the frog. Animal and Gonzo were there and they danced to the Muppet's song. Kelly didn't get in a lot of practice this week and it showed. The red dress was beautiful. Her and Louie didn't seem to have a really good love/hate thing going on for it though, that would have made it better even without more practice. Kathy looked like a pink princess. It was so the King and I. I didn't really like her dance it wasn't very exciting but it was elegant. There was no closeness. Mark did a good job. Lacey did good with the outfits. the beginning and ending were great. Crazy feet!! You couldn't not enjoy the dance. Mya made the jive look fun and easy to do. I loved her dress and her hair reminded me of the movie pulp fiction. Tom almost dropped Cheryl but other than that the dance was very strong and elegant. Cheryl also looks great in green maybe it's her skin color. Donny and Kym went Go Go dancer with this jive dancing to secret agent man. Very Bond James Bond. Their dance made me want to go out and learn. Donny can really move his hips. The crowd loved it , i loved it and the judges loved it.

Kelly got to do the encore. it was nice again. tonight is a double elimination, one guy one girl, not sure why they are doing it but next week will be normal. I don't understand why have more people on the show just to hurry up and send them home. Shawn Kingston preformed live and they premiered the video to Party in the USA. The Adam Carola skit was so funny, i loved him when he was on. They also had the cast of Broadways the lion king. if you haven't seen it on Broadway yet, i suggest you see it. The Patrick Swazey tribute was beautiful. Did the first dancer have shoes on? anyone?

the dances tonight were the salsa and then Viennese waltz. Debbie/Maks, Kathy/Tony, Natalie/Alec and Joanna/Derek did the salsa. Melissa/Mark, Mya/Dimitri, Macy Gray/ Jonathan and Kelly/Louie did the waltz. I don't really Debbie, I also don't really like her on Entourage. She talks to much in rehearsal but the dance was nice. Kathy makes me think of Christmas. She was in a few Christmas movies where her dad was Santa. I can't get it out of my head. I thought she looked stiff dancing. Natalie needs to smile more! Len commented on how sexy this dance should have been. I think it was too early for this dance. Joanna seemed to think Joanna brought sexy back into the dance along with the rest of them. I'm not so sure i liked it all that much. Melissa needs to work on her posture but i like watching the dance. At least she can do that dance I could never get it right. Mya's dance looked great, but what do i know I'm not a dancer, Len didn't like it said it wasn't a proper dance. Bruno and Carrie and disagreed. Macy Gray is a tall women and very busy. They practiced in Europe while she was on tour. I liked her dance too but the judges said technique was bad hopefully she'll get another chance to prove herself. I'm thrilled Kelly is doing dancing. You get this impression of her just by knowing she's the daughter of Ozzy Osbourne. She can prove that wrong! Her dress was nice and he dance was even better. The girls also did a relay dance. foxtrot and chachacha. It works the same way as last nights with the guys. Natalie, Joanna, Debbie and Kathy did the foxtrot. They didn't look to bad I didn't guess tonight. i didn't even think about it. judges scored as followed Joanna, Natalie, Debbie and then Kathy. Macy, Kelly, Melissa and Mya did the chachacha. Mya took first and then Kelly, Melissa and Macy.

Guys only!

This is from 9-21-09.

this is the first time that dancer have done 2 dances on the first night. which is why the girls are tomorrow and the results show is Wednesday. the two dances of the night are the chachacha and the foxtrot. Aaron/Katrina, Mark/Lacey, Michael/Anna, and Tom/Cheryl did the chachacha while Louie/Chelsie, Donny/Kym, Ashely/Edyta, and Chuck/Anna did the foxtrot. As for the chachacha I think everyone did well. I loved watching the dance, although I picture certain music every season for every song. Mark/Lacey danced to Kung Foo Fighting. That doesn't really sound like chachacha to me. but he worked in some martial arts moves into the dance since he does practice it in life and I now wish i had her legs. I didn't really like her dress but wow is all i gotta say. Aaron has potential if he can control is according to Bruno. Michael is not Emmet smith or even Jerry. He seems so stiff and it is also Anna's 1st season and got a lack of content from the judges. Tom wasn't bad for an older guy. He seems very willing to go outside his comfort zone to win. They danced to Wild Thing. Next the foxtrot! Chuck looked more scary than any thing else, when he wasn't looking terrified but I did really liked Anna's dress. Ashely looked very elegant and i love when the dress and tie match. The end was great but it just seemed so short. We also found out that he spent 2 and 1/2 years in a wheel chair and had brain surgery. Donny is a wonderful entertainer! I loved his dance to All that Jazz. Her dress looked great. Louie has never even watched dancing. What is he doing here? He is so cute though and really young. He's training for the for the 2010 Olympics for snowboarding. I think I may watch them to see how he does. Hopefully he looks more relaxed flying down a hill than he did on the dance floor but the dance was nice though. I look forward to watching him dance. Now we move into the relay dances. Dancers split into to 2 groups with 4 dancers in them. Once group (Donny, Ashely, Chuck and Louie) did the Salsa and then the others (Tom, Micheal, Mark and Aaron) did the Viennese Waltz. Each dancer had about 30 seconds or so to dance alone and get a score. Scores went from 10 to 4 10 going to 1st place. Mine were Donny, Louie, Chuck and Ashely the judges also went that way for the salsa. For the waltz i went with Aaron, Tom, Mark and then Michael. the judges went with Aaron, Mark, Micheal then Tom.

Truely Sorry!

Before I begin I just wanted to say I'm sorry for those who are reading this blog. I have gotten behind...weeks behind. Life has been crazy. I just proves that you shouldn't put things off. Once I realizede how behind I was, I was tring ot get off work just to get back on track with school. Which, I didn't get to, there weren't any subs available for the days i asked for and then my grandma had a triple bypass. so here i sit about to type lots of dancing days that i have missed and finally gotten to watch. I"m sorry for the overload.

September 21, 2009

As I sit here watching Dancing with the stars, I am going absolutely nuts with the commercials. I don't like commercials to begin with but having one after every dance... Absolutely Awful!!! It is almost ruining the show.. do two dances or maybe three and then hit a commercial. It's driving my crazy!!

The dances

They are doing 13 different dances this season. Some are new, some are old but all are amazing. Here is a list of the types of dances and a little information on each one.

The Argentine Tango : It originated in Buenos Aries, Argentina. It can be very open to very closed or in between. There is really no basic steps that the judges will be looking for.

The Cha Cha Cha : It originated in Cuba and is very lively and "bubbly". it is derived from the Rumba and the Mambo. The judges look for triple steps and rock steps and The dancers should synchronize.

Foxtrot : known because of when Harry Fox appeared in a show by Hammerstein, when people started copying the act they called it "Fox's Trot". It is a very smooth dance also called the Rolls Royce of the standard dancing styles. Judges look for timing along with the weave and the feather step.

The Jive : It's a swing type dance influenced by the boogie, rock and roll, and the Lindy hop. The origins are in New York's Harlem. Also a Latin dance it has kicks, flicks and twirling woman. The judges look for the chassez and the rock step, along with kicks, flips and spins.

Lindy Hop : Named after Lindberg's Atlantic Crossing, the Lindy hop is co-evolved with jazz music and is in the swing dance family. The judges will be looking for solo and partner dancing and the swing out.

Mambo : it is a fusion of swing and Cuban music brought about by Perez Prado. It's first appearance was in a nightclub in Havana. It can create quite the competition between musicians. The steps the judges will look for are quick and staccato steps. It is a very passionate dance so the judges will also look for that as well.

Pasa Doble : this dance focuses on the man and should have a bull fighting atmosphere to it. The woman can take on various role depending on the interpretation. The judges will look for "marching" type steps as well as cape movements. this dance is only done in the ballroom world.

Quickstep : it is a twinkling dance with tricky footwork and a fast pace. Judges will look for the slow, quick, quick, slow, quick, quick steps/movements. Synchronization and leg tension with the use of ankles.

Rumba : this dance "tells the story of love and eroticism between a man and a woman". look for teasing and withdrawal in this sensual Latin dance. judges will look for that along with hip action and straight legs.

Samba : this dance is a party dance! It originates from Brazil and is made up different S. American dances. It has lots of action to look for, Volta (bounce type step), waist movement and a distinctive climax where it ends with heads back and arms out.

Tango : another dance from Argentina, the gauchos would be wearing stiff chaps, go out to a nightclub, ask a lady to dance and because the gauchos usually had not showered the ladies "kept their distance". The woman would dance in the crook of the mans right arm with her head back and her right hand on his hip looking for money. It is a very flat dance but very emotional. The judges will be looking for that with walks, rock turns and links.

The Viennese Waltz : developed in central Europe from the Austrian dance called the Landler it is a fast whirling of partners. Judges will look for sweeping turns.

The Waltz : considered the mother of present day dances. It originated in Germany and is characterized by the elegant and beautiful patterns. Footing in crucial in this dance.

According to TV Guide Magazine there is two more dances, both new, the Charleston and the Lambada. They were not on the dancing with the stars website. Which would make 15 dances.

http://abc.go.com/shows/dancing-with-the-stars/about-the-show to get the full bios on each.

Are you ready to dance?

I love to watch dancing with the stars. As the new season approaches, I'm getting antsy. I love to watch the dancers twirl around on the dance floor and wonder what it would be like. I don't think I could waltz to save my life, maybe I'll learn for my wedding day or something like that. The celebrities that are on make you feel a little better a lot of them can't dance either but do it for some reason or another. Last season with Cloris was hilarious If you didn't see it for some reason or another her dancing was not up to par so to speak but she always made you laugh. Hopefully this season, which starts Monday, September 21st, will be as exhilarating and funny as the past seasons have been.
