Maks is filling in for Derrick this week on DWTS. Derrick has come down with the flu, he was there but since Joanna practiced with Maks all week she danced with him. Tonight we had the Pasadoble and the Argentine Tango. Lifts were allowed with the tango. They also did a group dance to The Hustle. Natale, Michael, Kelly, and Mark did the Pasadoble. The dancers doing the tango were Aaron, Mya, Donny, Louie, Melissa and Joanna.
Natalie danced to American Women...that certainly didn't make me think of Spain. Did you? I personally didn't like it, but i was put off by the song. Her dress matched (red, white and blue). I didn't think she was very aggressive either. Carrie Ann commented on a lift and said that Alec helped her do it and if she did it herself like she could have it would have been OK. This coming from the one who was so mesmerized when lifts weren't allowed at all. Blah! Michael literally but a nickle between his butt checks in practice. He looked great too so it worked I guess. Her dress really make me think Spain and the skirt turned into a cape for the bull to run through! After the dance he gave Bruno the nickle from practice. Mark and Lacy's opening was cool with the fog, I don't think anyone has done that before. There was lots of passion and the facial expressions showed it. Kelly got Louie to wear make up again. she really looked like her mom, Sharron, with her hair spiked like that. Ozzy was there again and it was nice because they danced to Crazy Train. That doesn't make you think Spain either but with the moves they pulled it off really nice. Compared to past weeks she looked more relaxed. Daddy gave her a standing ovation!
Aaron had professional help come into practice this week and it paid off. He did really well compared to last week and the judges really liked it. Mya yet again got a romantic, in her zone, dance. I did like her hair and her make up though. Her and Dimitry took some time out of practice this week to help out with habitat for humanity. Donny entertained as always. I loved Kym's dress, I had to look twice to see how it was on. They were very serious and sexy and intense. All I could think was Italy now I want to go there. They got 10s! Louie did more dancing this week than last week. He had some lifts in there too. I can't wait for him to really find the confidence to actually dance but according to the judges he's leading more than Chelsie is. Melissa partner Mark is also sick but not as bad as derrick. Anna helped out in practice and it seemed to help her a lot. I always love when Mark wears those bright colored pieces on his shoes. I'm not completely sure what they are. It was very passionate and aggressive. The judges said she looked grumpy and had footing issues. Carrie Ann said she was in character and that she liked it. Len said it was lacking but liked it. I didn't see any grumpy and I do know grumpy. Joanna stumbled big time this week but her and Maks did find some chemistry. I love the song Lola, I even named my fish after it.
"Do the hustle!" do do o song doesn't leave your head. Corky came back to be the choreographer. Kelly hurt her foot and ended up dancing barefoot. Donny actually remembers the 70s and did his hair like it used to be like in the 70s. Everyone did flips and tricks. Louie danced as in moved his feet danced! Everyone did great and the dance was entertaining. Also they weren't being judged on this one.

The flu? That's horrible. I hope it didn't affect the dancing.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah -- This is a really thorough run-down of DWTS for those of us who never get to see it. Yep, that'd be me. Though I did catch the one episode last season with Cloris Leachman doing what I think was the tango. It's one of those unforgettable moments, really. Pretty much anything with Cloris. Anyway, what I'd like to say here is why don't you try expanding your blog to include more details about you? What you do instead of dancing? Your connection to the dances, the stars? The story of your fish named Lola? Also, be sure to edit your posts and follow HuffPost's advice on things like length and subject. Focus. Brevity. That sort of thing. Cha cha cha.
